A virtually hassle-free, very long lived perennial, this cultivar of our native A. tuberosa offers three months of golden yellow blooms from early through late summer. The sunny yellow flower clusters of 'Hello Yellow' look smart in the mixed border but will live just as happily in your meadow among the butterflies. This upscale variety of a favorite American wildflower will thrive in all soils (except clay) and does not mind drought. These plants provide nourishment for Monarch butterflies through all their life stages, and are essential for their survival. The flowers, which are heavily laden with nectar and pollen, are particularly attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and other beneficial insects, from July through August. Drought tolerant and easy to grow. Deadheading the flowers will stimulate another bloom cycle about a month after the first one.
